native shrubs

what is the name for a large shrub growing wild that is similar to a willow having grey/ silver underside of leaf and clusters of tubular yellow flowers? it has a pleasant scent.

Randy, What you are probably seeing is Autumn Olive, Elaeagnus umbellata. It is not a native plant but has escaped cultivation to over run native areas. Despite its attributes it should never be planted due to its ability to be a thug and crowd out all natives. I would also encourage its removal where it does exist.
