am having a proble with carpetender bees making hole in my cedar siding home. They also leave very messy waste trails on the windows and siding. I have had a few in years past, but this year there seems to be more. Presently I see 8 to 10 new holes. In the past I have sprayed them with cygon(?sp) and filled the holes with wood filler.

The only insecticide still registered for use for carpenter bees for homeowners is Carbaryl dust (sevin)

Recommendation is to dust holes with sevin dust, do not plug entrances now.

In the fall, fill the holes with wood putty, sand wood putty smooth. This will be a continuing problem w/ a cedar shake house. Paint or varnish is the only way to make them totally un-interested.
