I planted a very small pine tree and some small mugo pine shrubs earlier this year and I can see I planted them in the wrong place. Can I move them this fall?

Deb, You certainly may move them. I recommend transplanting in September. Keep them well watered until ground freezes which may be December. Keep moist but dont drown them.
