Our yard is Champaign is infested with what look like small mosquitos without the proboscis. They are covering the screens on our house and fly up from the lawn when we walk across it. Any idea what they may be? Thanks.

Chris, There are plenty of midges and gnats out there that might fit that description. Do you happen to have a hackberry nearby? Some of the gall making insects are emerging now. Good news is generally these are just a nuisance and are short lived.
