Hi, I just planted a green ash tree in my back yard. Is it a good tree to plant? Does it have alot of problems with insects & disease?

Thank You, Greg Jensen

Greg, They are generally good trees. We have seen a few problems recently with ash decline and borer. Your best bet is make sure you can see a root flare so you know it's not planted too deep (sometimes they come from the nursery with too much soil on top). Avoid pruning during growing season (to help prevent borer) and keep it well watered.
