Mandavilla

I have three mandavilla plants. All three have a white egg looking spots on their leaves. New leaves do not come out and whatever this is is killing the plants. I don't see a bug of sorts so I'm not sure if it is a fungus or a pest. I have tried soapy water on the leaves but this has not helped. All the plants were healthy until about 3 weeks ago.

Thank you,

Kyna Echt

Kyna, At first I thought it might be mealy bug which is a cottony looking insect and common toyour plants. They are tough to get rid of but usally insecticidal soap works after several sprays. If the spots wipe off then it coudl be mealy bug or scale insects. You may want to check out some pictures of both. The plant may also not be doing as well since period of day light is getting shorter. You may also want to contact your local Texas Extension office. Check out this website to find the nearest office to you http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/extension/
