yellow leaves

some of the leaves turn yellow then fall off.they get full sun after two in th afternoon.i water every other day.is there sometime i need to do?thank you for your time ,i would appreciate any help.

Bob, Could be acouple things wrong with your rhododendron. They can experience iron deficiency in high pH soils. Im not familiar with NC soils so that may or may not be the case with yours. Also you didnt say how old the plant is and when it was planted. New plantings can certainly experience stress from too much or too little water. they like to be moist but not wet. They like to be mulched with wood chips and really do not like hot afternoon sun.
