we have a large wood pile cut down by electric companyh. We want to use the mulch for around plants but the whole thing is infested with poison ivy. Is there anything we can do?

Kim, Too bad. If it was actively composted as in turned once and awhile you might be safe in a year to use it. I'd say let it compost for now.
