A friend gave me a cutting off her mandavilla plant. I kept it moist on the weay home and planted it in moist soil. Do I need to root it first in water or just leave it in the dirt. Monica, Mandevilla root easily from 4-6 inch stem cuttings. Just put in good potting soil or soiless mix. Put plastic bag over it to keep in moisture. put in sunny spot away from direct light.
