A friend gave me a cutting off her mandavilla plant. I kept it moist on the weay home and planted it in moist soil. Do I need to root it first in water or just leave it in the dirt. The leaves have become limp. I do not want to kill the plant as it has the most beautiful, fragrant yellow flowers. Thank you Monica , Lakelanf, Fl PS I have never used rooting hormone.

Monica, Mandevilla root easily from 4-6 inch stem cuttings. Just put in good potting soil or soiless mix. Put plastic bag over it to keep in moisture. put in sunny spot away from direct light.
