When is the best time to seed and why? Should you not seed during the summer and why not? Thank you very much.

David, Best time to plant grass seed is in late summer late August into September. At that time weed seed germination competition is less, temperatures are moderate and generally we start having some rain. tough to keep seed watered properly in summer heat. Second best time is in April. check out this website it may help in your decision making. http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/lawntalk/
