I've been noticing some stiff, straw/hay-like weed/grass coming up in my yard the last several weeks. It is round and narrow and harder than grass and is a light tan color. Do you know what this is exactly and how I can get rid of it?

Todd, the best way to identify this mystery grass would be to bring a sample into the Extension office (801 N. Country Fair Dr. Se D, Champaign). A Master Gardener or a staff member should be able to help you out with this.
