Our hollies (1male - 4 females) 3 years old have not grown much since we planted them. Everthing else in the garden is flourishing, but the hollies are not growing very much. What are we doing wrong? Honeysuckles (planted in same area)and trumpet vines purchased at the same time are three times larger and full of fruit and blossoms. What can we do to help them?

Diane, hollies are pretty finiky as to their site and soil. they need much the same as rhododendrons. acid soil, moist but not wet soil, (they hate to dry out) lots of organic matter, mulched, sun in morning with shade in afternoon. protection from winter winds may need to move them. good luck
