I am interested in starting to make compost but would like to use a container system verses an open system like a pile outdoors. I've seen them advertised in some magazines and on websites. Do you have any advice on using a closed system/container for making compost?

Jeanette, I think the closed systems are fine and ceratainly folks in urban areas may find them more neighbor friendly. The main drawback is their size. If you have a lot of debris you may find it fills very quickly. You may find this website helpful. http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/compost/
