I recieved a mandelvilla on a treliss for Mother's Day. My question is: I can I transplant the plant in the ground to vine on a very large treliss or does it need to stay potted? Thanks for your help.....Debbie

Debbie, what a nice gift for Mothers day. You certainly can plant it into the ground if you like. Some people leave them in pots so they can bring them indoors in the winter since they are not winter hardy here in Illinoins. I would suggest contacting your local Extension office to see if they are hardy where you live. check this webiste for an office near you. http://www.lsuagcenter.com/
