Does the plant have to be dug up and brought into a warmer environment? Or is there a way of keeping it outside.

I have 6 plants and they are gorgeous right now. The ground was well developed before I planted them. They are covered in mulch. Everyone is telling me they will die, regardless if I bring them in or leave them out.

I guess I could plant the Passion Vine as it will come back without having to dig it up.

Hi Gerri, Since I am here in Illinois I'm not sure if they are winter hardy in La. You may want to check with your local Extension office for local info. check this website for an office near you. http://www.lsuagcenter.com/en/lawn_garden/ They are not hardy for us but many people here take them in for the winter and grow them successfully as houseplants. here is a nice fact sheet that may help. http://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheets/HGIC1109.htm hope this helps, Sandy
