https://extension.illinois.edu/gardening We recommend purchasing compost from a local EPA certified producer. The certification requires producers to test each batch and conduct a germination test. The test reports are available at the producer’s facility. This should help with pest/disease/weed issues while assuring a properly composted product. The list can be found here:
