I've been hearing about growing tomatoes upside down. Do you have any information on this process in my region? Would this work for cucumbers and cantaloupe?

David - I've seen magazine articles describing the process, but I've never actually witnessed it myself....Basically, it involves cutting a hole in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket, big enough to slip a seedling thru, then filling the bucket with a (lightweight) soil mix, and hanging it from a very sturdy hook so that the plant hangs down. I don't see why it wouldn't work with a bush type cucumber, but I would think a cantaloupe vine would get out of control pretty quickly! If you decide to try it, take notes and a photo, and let me know how it works for you!
