Eugene: The University of Florida has a good web publication, "Preparing to Plant a Florida Lawn", http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/LH012 It discusses the importance of adding soil amendments to sandy soils and how to prepare the soil ahead of grass planting. "Selecting a Turfgrass for Florida Lawns", http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/LH005 This is another University of Florida web publication that does a nice job of showing the advantages and disadvantages of the adapted turfgrasses for Florida. Bahiagrass looks to be the easiest grass to grow in your area, but it is a coarse textured grass. If you need more advise, the Florida Extension Servide is nearby to serve you. Pasco County Extension Office 36702 State Road 52 Dade City, FL 33525-5198 (352) 521-4288 I hope this helps.
