Hello..Last week I cut down 2 Persimmon trees,,when I offered them to a neighbor as firewood, he commented that they were used for golf club heads and I might want to first try to sell them ..they are about 10"across and 16' to 20' long......Is there a market for these trees ? Do you know who I would call?..is it worth the trouble for what I have? ps. loved your tele-conference tks Robert

Greetings Robert:

Thanks for the kind words and your question!

Regarding your two persimmon trees, you may have difficulty in trying to find a typical timber buyer utilizing such low quantity and small timber. However, you will probably have much better luck with a portable sawmill owner - either have him custom saw it for a fee or sell it to him or barter with him.

Please contact your local DNR forester for a list of local portable sawmill owners

Furthermore, you may want to put an add in your local newspaper :-)

Best of luck!
