I have several oak trees, I think White Oak. On three trees the leaves have turn brown and falling off and the bark is fall off leaving behind a brownish-green moss. We have had little rain this year. The trees my be 10 years old, about 25 ft high. What could this be? Will it continue to spread to the rest of the oak trees? What should we do?

Thank You

Greetings Robert,

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be much help for you seeing that I really need to be able to see this tree in person to offer any constructive advice. Therefore, you need to contact a local certified arborist or your local North Carolina Extension office and have them examine your tree on-site.

Sorry I couldn't be more assistance to you, but it's nearly impossible to diagnose "sick tree" symptoms via the phone or internet - that's why human patients are always required to visit the doctor's office.

Best of luck!
