Transplanting Red Pine (MI)

I HAD RED PINE SEEDLINGS PLANTED 2 YEARS AGO AND HERE IN MICHIGAN THIS YEAR WE HAD A VERY LONG DROUGHT AND ALOT OF THEM WERE LOST. SO I WANT TO KNOW IF I COULD TAKE SOME AND MOVE THEM TO MORE DESIRED AREAS I WANT THEM, AND IF I DO HOW MUCH WATERING WILL THEY TAKE? WILL THEY TAKE WELL IF I DO MOVE THEM? I'M TRYING TO DECIDE IF IT WOULD BE WORTH THE TIME TO MOVE THEM OR IF I WOULD LOSE EVEN MORE. I'M TALKING ABOUT MOVING 100 OF THEM OR MORE. WOULD IT BE BETTER TO GET NEW SEDDLINGS AND USE THEM TO FILL IN WHERE I HAVE LOST THEM. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. ANY INFORMATION ON THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS

Greeting Doug!

Since you're up in Michigan and talking about a lot of trees, I strongly urge you to contact your local Michigan Extension office for on-site assistance and assessment.

This is simply a case where you need direct input from a professional based on existing field conditions.

Best of luck!
