Return to Selling/Removing Yard Trees

Selling Red Oak Yard Trees (CT)

I will ask the age old question I'm sure for the 100th time. I have four very large trees in my yard in New Britain, CT. I have received several quotes ranging from $3000 to $8000 to cut them down. They all have described them as Red Oaks. They are completely to close to the house and very expensive to remove. I have to believe there is some value in these trees and want very much to get ride of them. Is there a way, a compnay or organization that will take them down and use them for there own business. Please help me !

Greetings Jamie,

Thank you for your question and yes, it is a very common but legitimate question concerning how expensive it is to have yard trees removed.

My suggestion to you is to contact a local Connecticut state forester to provide you with some guidance at your local level. I would also try to contact your city's urban forester if they have one on staff. Your urban forester may know of someone willing to barter with you for the useable wood, assuming the trees are not hollow.

Best of luck!
