I have a good size hardwood program and wind break program going in this spring and was looking for the state trees to help with some of the trees (free why not) I heard through Steve Felt that is was not in there budget this year to dig, is that so? If they do decide to when or how do I find out ASAP to know what to cancel on my order. Thanks Ryan

Greetings Ryan,

Recently, the Illinois Division of Forestry was subject to additional budget cuts and this will greatly affect the number of seedlings that can be lifted out of the nursery beds for distribution to Illinois landowners.

Your only options are to stay in close contact with Steve Felt or the Mason County Nursery Manager, Mr. Dave Horvath (309-535-2185) to determine when or if your order can be filled or partially filled. Unfortunately, seedling demand always exceeds seedling supply through IDNR's state nurseries.
