Fall Foliage in Chicago

I have two choices. Week of 10/6 or week of 10/27. Which will be best for fall foliage in Chicago?

Without being able to predict the weather or other environmental conditions, I would suggest the week of October 6...but don't hold me to that recommendation :-) October 27 may or may not be beyond fall peak colors for this part of Illinois - again, weather and environmental conditions.

For this upcoming fall, when is the best time for fall foliage in Northern Illinois?

Again, nobody can predict peak fall foliage with absolute certainty. However, we can make generalizations based on the mean frequency of past peak color events. Therefore, it is probably safe to say that peak foliage for northern Illinois will be mid-October (+/- 1-2 weeks).
