Is it possible to grow a healthy Oak tree in the state of Texas? I live in a small city about 3 hours north of the international border. I'd like to plant an oak tree in my yard. Would it grow?

Greetings Cynthia:

Yes, it is possible to grow healthy oak trees in the state of Texas. Texas is home to numerous native oak species.

Here is a tree selection Website sponsored by your state's university Extension Service:

Best of luck!
