Return to Selling/Removing Yard Trees

Two Huge Oak Trees (IL)

I am wondering if you know of anybody or a logging company that would like to have our huge oak trees in the back yard. We have already removed 4 oak trees in the past 2 years and we have two more (the biggest ones) that we would like to have cut this summer. A coworker of mine suggested that I looked up some logging companies that might be interested in having them. I would say the diameter of each one is at least 2-3 ft and more than 4-story high. If you need me to send some pictures, please let me know.

Thanks, Irma Hernandez-Lyon

Greetings Irma:

Please try contacting several custom/portable sawmill operators on the following directory created by the Illinois Urban Wood Utilization Team:

http://www.illinoisurbanwood.org/documents/ILCustomSawmillsDirectory2011.pdf

However, most of these custom/portable sawmill operators are not in the business of removing yard trees, nor are many custom sawmill operators and traditional loggers willing to undergo the excessive risk and liability associated with removing trees in residential areas. Of course, you can always try contacting a licensed timber buyer via the following Website if you believe the trees to be of legitimate commercial value for lumber or veneer:

Best of luck!
