Planting New Tree Over an Existing Stump (MA)

hi,

I recently had a 60 ft silver maple took down, with the stump grounded, to about 4-6"below ground level. I am thinking of planting a yellowwood or a black tupelo. Can I plant the new tree in the same spot?

Thank you!

Greetings Young:

I strongly suggest "not" planting your new tree over the top of an existing stump...

Best of luck!
