New York Black Walnut Veneer Logs (NY)

I was just wondering how much black walnut logs are going for now in NY. My dad had 32 cut down and i'm not a logger, but I believe that he may have a lot of veneer. Just want an idea of price ranges before the logger brings in his buyers. My dad has been taken in the past. Any help would be great. Thanks, Butch

Greetings Butch: Black walnut stumpage is rebounding quite nicely. Rather than selling your standing timber directly to a logger, might I suggest you contact an independent consulting forester to assist you in marketing your timber to the highest prospective timber buyer.
