We had to have some trees including a black walnut taken down after a storm and the guy cut it all into cord lengths before I could stop him. It was only 8" or 9" diameter, but I wondered if there is still a market for it for craftsmen using veneer. I'd hate to see it become firewood if there's an alternative. Thanks.

Greetings Beverly:

These small diameter, short length pieces of black walnut are not suitable for traditional veneering. However, you may find interest from local woodworkers.

To find local woodworkers, please conduct an internet search or contact your local state forestry office.

Best of luck!
