hallow from australia could some one please let me know that when a pin oak gets to full maturity its branches become more dence making it harder for a climber because of his or hers rope becoming moe intwined in the pi like branches and becuase of this or any other reason making this tree a more difficult tree to climbe than most other trees and if so could probably say that at acertain age these trees should be left for cherry pickers only cind regards allen

Greetings Allen:

Pin oaks reach sexual maturity around age 20-30; although some often produce acorns before that time frame. Here in the US, pin oaks typically grow very large: from 80-120 feet tall to diameters in excess of 4 feet.

Pin oaks have a physiological disposition to heavy branching--in fact, this tree's lower branches often do not self-prune lending itself to a rather unique look. This lack of self-pruning is very apparent on open-grown trees, and lower branches are commonly present on forest-grown trees.
