I have a very larg black walnut tree in my back yard and it is very close to my house. It recently lost a limb in a storm and has become a pain since all its walnuts are falling. I would like to have it removed but want to get the going price for it. The main trunk is about 28 inches is diameter and is this width for around 10 feet up when it Y's. I do not have measurments on the branches farther up. If you could recomend some contacts that might be willing to come and give me an estimate please e-mail it to me. Thank you.

Greetings Hilary:

Your best bet is contact your local state forestry agency. They will be able to better assist you on a local level with regard to marketing yard trees. More than likely they will have a list of portable sawmill operators.

Best of luck!
