Lightning Struck Pin Oak

My large pin oak tree was hit by lightening last summer. Lost two huge limbs then and now I am losing another one. It is hanging down. Otherwise, the tree seems to be doing alright. Should I have the tree topped or just remove the remaining dead limbs? The tree is about 50 foot high and I really want to keep it.

Greetings Grace:

I would strongly encourage you to contact a local certified arborist for an on-site evaluation and assessment. Please contact your state arborist association or your state forestry agency for a list of certified arborists.

Best of luck!
