Forked Eastern White Pine

I have a White Pine that has two trunks. Now one of the tops has died, but it still has life on the lower trunk. Can I safely remove the whole trunk on the dead side or should I just trim the top? The tree is about 14ft. high.

Greetings Alison:

Thank you for your question, however I do not make tree removal recommendations over the Internet. Therefore, you will have to seek professional on-site assistance regarding this question.

Please contact your local state forestry agency there in Michigan.

Best of luck!
