I am very interested in becoming a forest ranger here in central Illinois. I already have a two year degree in science. Where can I apply?

Forest ranger, or ranger positions are few and far between here in central Illinois. Forest rangers, which are not professional forestry positions, typically provide park tours, interpretation, park/trail maintenance, and sometimes fire and law-enforcement duties.

Please check with local county parks and forest preserve districts, state Natural Resources agencies, and federal agencies such as the Park Service, Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management.
