Is it too close to Spring to trim Norway pine trees and if not do I need to put some type of dressing , paint, etc. on the cut?

Thanks for the help!!

Greetings Marty:

You're probably safe to do a little pruning still on your Norway spruce as you're a little more north than we are here in central Illinois. However, I would avoid pruning if the sap is running (you'll know after making a few pruning cuts if the sap is flowing).

Don't use any dressing, pruning paint, etc. -- leave bare to allow proper compartmentalization and callus tissue formation post pruning.

Best of luck!
