I just cut 3 black walnut logs off my property and i'm wondering what is a good price for them, i have 1 log that is 18'6" long and about 24" in diameter, that is 14'6" and about 18-20" in diameter and 1 that is 10'6" and about 14-16" in diameter, if i could just get a general figure would be good thanks.

Greetings Michael:

Please refer to the following Websites as I do not appraise or value trees/logs over the Internet--sorry, but it is inappropriate to value a log or tree without being able to physically grade the tree/log. All I can tell you is that black walnut prices are still very strong and demand is still high. You may also try contacting a local Alabama Forestry Commission forester for local timber prices.

Couple Suggestions:

http://www.srs.fs.usda.gov/econ/data/prices/

http://web.extension.illinois.edu/forestry/il_timber_prices/index.html

Best of luck!
