I will be leading an event to plant 1000 Jeffery pines. Is there a way to reduce stress on the saplings which were originally balled root and transplanted to 1 gallon pots 6 weeks ago?

Please describe the best method for planting.

Thank you

Greetings Joelene:

Maintaining adequate moisture, shade, low wind, and low temperatures -- all necessary to reduce evapotranspiration -- are helpful techniques for mitigating transplanting shock.

With regard planting techniques, please visit the National Arbor Day Foundation:

Best of luck to you!
