Red Maple Seedlings and Verticillium Wilt

I have a red maple tree that appears to have verticillium wilt. My question is: Will the seedlings have the same disease or is it ok to plant these, some have sprouted in other parts of the yard. Thank you

Red maple, like other maples (Acer spp.), is susceptible to verticillium wilt. Therefore, there is always the "possibility" other maple trees in your yard may become infected by this soil borne fungi. Obviously, it is impossible to state with absolute certainly whether these young maples will also become infected by verticillium wilt -- only time will tell.

Your other alterantive is to plant trees/shrubs that show resistance to verticillium wilt:
