Trees destroyed by Trespasser (MO)

How do you identify the trees destroyed when the trespasser removed and burned the trunks and used a construction sized backhoe to remove the stumps and roots? The trespasser reportedly dug a very large hole and buried the stumps and attached roots. Trees ranged from saplings to 100 year plus - primarily oak.
