Selling Walnut Trees on 2-acre Lot

I have recently moved into a 2 acre place that has black walnut trees and I would like to have at least 10 or more removed. I have been told that I could sell them and the wood is in demand. Is that true, if yes, what is my next step? Look for a consultant forester? I appreciate any information. Thank you, Shirley

Greetings Shirley:

Yes -- assuming of course a potential timber buyer has unimpeded physical access to the trees (no fences, structures, landscaping, etc.) and assuming the trees are large enough and of appropriate quality to spark a timber buyer's interest.

In order to assist you with the answers to the questions above, please contact a professional consulting forester using the U of I Extension Forestry link below:

Best of Luck!
