I have three oak trees in my front yard and one of them is massive. it is at least 5 ft in diameter at breast height and would like to know who I would contact to consider selling it.

Greetings Mike:

I just want you to know it is very likely that you will have to pay an arborist to remove your yard tree(s). However, I don't want to discourage you from trying to find a portable sawmill owner or a custom woodworker to actually pay you for your yard tree(s) as you may live in an area that is unencumbered with many of the obstacles and high-costs associated with yard tree removals.

The simple reality is this, "Most URBAN yard tree removal jobs are very costly due to the sheer logistics of removing one single tree from a heavily populated, residential urban environment." Therefore, do not expect to receive an offer to buy your tree(s) from an arborist; rather, you should fully expect to receive an invoice for the tree removal operation!

Since you reside in New York, please start with your New York Dept. of Environmental Conservation office:

Best of luck!
