DO YOU KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY STATE OR FEDERAL PERSONAL/PRIVATE GRANTS AWARDED TO INDIVIDUALS WHO WANT TO PLANT MORE TRESS IN THEIR YARD? MY BACK YARD HAS BEEN A HUGE CHALLENGE FOR TREES DUE TO CLAY SOIL, IMPROPER PLANTING, STRONG COLD WINTER WINDS... I HAVE LOST SEVERAL TREES AND WOULD LIKE TO REPLACE THEM WITH THE PROPER KIND FOR THE CONDITIONS, HAVE THE TREES PLANTED PROPERLY, AND PERHAPS HAVE MY YARD BE USED AS RESEARCH?

Greetings Suzanne: I am not aware of any state or federal grants for homeowner tree planting projects. Landowners...yes, but not homeowners. I would encourage you to contact your local municipality to see if they offer homeowners any deals on tree planting stock.
