Greetings Ellen:

I would strongly encourage you to contact a local certified arborist for a list of options for your particular tree and situation, including the high-cost and small window of applying growth regulators such as Florel.

Alternatives: learn to live with and embrace these acorns as a sign of changing seasons; hire a kid to rake/collect the acorns; or have the tree removed if you absolutely cannot tolerate anymore acorn production by your oak tree.
