Buying Timber Land (IL)

We are looking at some land that is all timber but we would like to know what the timber is worth before we make an offer. How should we go about this? We also would like to know what are options are for either programs or selective logging. We have not a clue where to start. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hi Cindy: I would encourage you to work with a professional consulting forester in order to conduct a timber appraisal prior to making an offer on the land.
