Native Illinois Landscape

I'm a homeowner with a 50' x 50' foot ravine on the side of my house. I would like to plant native Illinois landscape. But, I don't know where to go. There are no oak trees in the ravine. I'd like to introduce oaks and other native Illinois schrubs. Where can I turn to get help? I don't want to clear out the exsisting trees for fear of erosion.
