IDNR Forest Nursery Seedlings

Years ago there was a program with the dept. of conservation where they offered native seedlings at a very reasonable price in a large quantity. Are there any programs like this still available? I recently purchased old farmland and would like to plant something on the barren land which has become very windswept.

Hi Vicky: Please contact your local Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources (IDNR) field office and ask a wildlife biologist or forester about obtaining state bareroot seedlings from their state nurseries.
