How do you determine the exact time window of flower onset? We have a tree at our elementary school that we want to spray to try and stop the fruit. Cutting it down is not an option. Thanks.

Visually, by observing the development of the small female flowers.

Why is cutting down this tree not an option? Personally, I believe spraying trees to prevent fruiting is a complete waste of time and money.

The choice is obviously yours; however, spraying this Ginkgo is not going to solve the issue of stinky fruit.
