Yard Tree Recommendations (IL)

I am contacting you for recommendations of good types of trees to plant in front yards. I live in Arlington Heights, Illinois and my house faces west. I really want a pretty-leafed tree but am not sure what to start looking for or where to begin with so many choices of trees! If you could possibly give me some guidance on this, I would be MOST appreciative!
