Where to Buy Black Walnut Seedlings (IL)

29 January 2014 .... Have house near Arthur, Ill. with black walnut trees that were planted in 1898. Would like to plant 20 new trees for the next generations. Where can I buy black walnut trees that are a year or so old?

Hi Jerry: You can purchase bareroot nursery stock from a private nursery (Forrest Keeling, Midwest Seedling Supply, Hensler Nursery, Woody Warehouse Nursery, etc.). Check out their websites via your preferred browser and search engine. Alternatively, you may purchase bareroot nursery stock from the IL Dept. of Natural Resources by contacting your local IDNR district forester: http://dnr.state.il.us/conservation/forestry/Documents/DistrictForestersMap.pdf
