Diameter Decreases as a Function of Height?

Hello - I wanted to know (as a rule of thumb) how the diameter of a black walnut decreases with height. For example, a 32" (DBH) diameter black walnut typically decreases in diameter by X inches every Y feet in height. I have seen this on here before, however I could not find it. Can you please fill in X and Y so I get a feel for diameter decrease as you move up a black walnut tree. Thanks, John

Sorry John, but I'm confident that I've never responded to such a "rule of thumb" inquiry regarding walnut diameter growth decline as a function of tree height.

However, the link listed below is to a USDA Forest Service publication on the "DIAMETER GROWTH, SURVIVAL, AND VOLUME ESTIMATES FOR TREES IN INDIANA AND ILLINOIS." It includes estimates for black walnut.

Best of luck!
